An assistant cross country and track & field coach during the 2002-03 season, Keith Dieterle was promoted to head coach of cross country in the summer of 2003. In addition, he continues to serve as the Diplomats' distance coach during the indoor and outdoor track seasons.

He began his coaching career with three seasons as assistant cross country coach at Lancaster Catholic High School before serving as head track & field coach for Conestoga Valley Middle School.

A talented distance runner, he competed in cross country and track & field at NCAA Division II Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. During his cross country career, he was part of a 13th place finish at the Division II National Meet (1988) and earned team captain and All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference honors his senior year (1992).

He actively competes in road races in Lancaster County and Southeastern Pennsylvania, including a career best time of 69 minutes in the 1995 Philadelphia half-marathon.

A graduate of Immaculata College with a bachelor of science in nursing with a school nursing certificate, he is currently pursuing a masters degree in education at Eastern Mennonite University.
