Bullets Shoot Down Winning Streak

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall saw its nine-match winning streak shot down by the Bullets of Gettysburg College on Wednesday. The Diplomats fell 3-2 (30-17, 26-30, 25-30, 30-17, 15-13). Gettysburg improved to 11-5 (2-0 CC) with the win, while Franklin & Marshall fell to 12-4 (3-1 CC).

F&M pounded down 50 kills behind 14 each from Maritza Fair, Nicole Morano, and Margot Phelan. The Diplomats were strong on the serve, blasting 14 service aces including five by Valerie Pusaterri, and three each by Fair and Pamelo Horner. Setting duties were split with Pusateri notching 30 assists and Horner adding 14.

Defensively, Franklin & Marshall was led by Jenna Walck with 13 digs, while Phelan notched a double-double with 10 digs. Morano patrolled the net for the visitors, totaling six blocks.

Trailing 2-1, Gettysburg rebounded to win the final two games thanks the hitting of senior Katie Heffner and freshman Kate Yoder, the former becoming the 11th player in Gettysburg history with 1,000 kills, who combined for 31 kills in the Bullets' 3-2 (30-17, 26-30, 25-30, 30-17, 15-13) decision.

F&M returns to action this Saturday when the Diplomats host the F&M scramble. The first match is set for 10:00 a.m.
