Diplomats Compete at Little Three

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Both the Franklin & Marshall men's and women's track & field teams finished in third place at the annual Little Three Meet, hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday. The annual gathering features Dickinson, Gettysburg, and Franklin & Marshall.

The men got five place finishes in the meet. Steven Tracy won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.09 seconds. Jake Gomolinski-Ekel clocked a 22.31 in the 200-meter dash, and was followed across the line by Tracy at 22.34. Gomolinski-Ekel took second in the 400-meter dash.

Lucas Burbank won the javelin with a toss of 53.9 meters.

Zach Barninger won the long jump with a leap of 6.34 meters. Tracy took second in the event coming down at 6.28 meters. Barninger took third in the pole vault finishing behind Jon Brallier. Gettysburg's Stephen Hendrix won the pole vault with a mark of 4.42 meters.

Libby Haas was the team's only first place finisher with a win in the high jump. She cleared at 1.55 meters, giving her .05 meters on Dickinson and Gettysburg's entrants. Haas and Megan Hunter went two-three in the 400 meter dash posting a 61.47 and 61.49 respectively.

Karen Ziga took second in the 5000 meter crossing in 18:48.3 seconds. Dickinson's Becca Trosch won the race in 18:34.7 seconds. Laura Lautenbacher and Erin Gleason took second place in the pole vault and shot put. Gleason's hurl of 10.75 meters was .27 meters off of the mark set by Gettysburg's Jane D'Addario. Lautenbacher put up a 2.60 in the pole vault, .14 meters below Kristan Saloky of Dickinson. Alyssa Catalano took second in the hammer with a throw of 40.74 feet. D'Addario won that throw as well, putting up a 41.27.
