Diplomats Drop Two

March 18, 2008

Box Score

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Franklin & Marshall's softball team dropped a pair of games on Tuesday, falling 10-7 to Staten Island and 16-13 to Loras (Iowa). F&M is now 0-6 on the young season, but not by any lack of offense. The Diplomats are hitting .357 and have scored 41 runs through the first six games of the season.

F&M jumped out in front 7-0 through four innings with the College of Staten Island, however, four walks and a pair of errors in the fifth put all 10 of CSI's runs on the board. All four of their hits in the game came in that inning as well. F&M posted 11 hits. Lauren Incorvaia went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Samantha Basuk went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Jessika Mancino was 3-for-5.

The Diplomats jumped on Loras early scoring nine runs in the top of the first. F&M recorded 20 hits in the 16-13 setback. Mancino went 5-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, while Caitlin Elfring was 4-for-5 and also knocked in a pair of runs. Meredith Morgan also drove in two on a 3-for-5 effort. Incorvaia was 3-for-5 as well.

The Diplomats return to action tomorrow against Washington & Jefferson and Wisconsin-River Falls.
