A four-year player at second base for Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Goropoulos was a member of the 1992 Middle Atlantic Conference Champion Mules that participated in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship Tournament.

The 1995 Helen Hope Richardson Award recipient, she served as team captain in 1995 and was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll from 1993 through 1995.

In addition, she participated in varsity field hockey from 1991-1994 at Muhlenberg, earning All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades.

A 1995 graduate of Muhlenberg with a bachelor of arts in Business Administration, Goropoulus holds a masters of science in education from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
