Three Named To All-CC Women's Soccer Team

Nov. 2, 2007

LANCASTER, Pa. - Athena Manolakos, Shannon Summers and Michelle Shea, members of the Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team, have been named to the 2007 All-Centennial Conference (CC) second team, announced on Friday.

Manolakos, a senior co-captain and midfielder, is earning her first all-conference honor. She started in every contest, scoring two goals and adding two assists for six points. Manolakos' two goals were game winners against Bryn Mawr and McDaniel.

Summers, a junior midfielder, was named to the second team after being nabbed an honorable mention in 2005. She led the team with four goals and three assists for 11 points. Summers netted both goals against Cabrini and scored the game winner against Haverford.

Shea, a junior defender, is receiving her first All-CC accolades. She anchors a defense that posted a 0.97 goals-against average and tallied seven shutouts. Shea recorded a goal against McDaniel.

The Diplomats concluded the season with an 8-6-2 overall record and a 5-5 mark in the conference.
