Six Named To All-Conference Team

LANCASTER, Pa. - Six members of the second-ranked Franklin & Marshall women's lacrosse team were named to the 2008 All-Centennial Conference team, announced Thursday afternoon. Three Diplomats earned first-team honors, while three were selected to the second team.

Jen Pritchard was a unanimous first-team choice and is joined by Sarah Meisenberg and Ashley Bevington on the first team. Blake Hargest, Shannon Summers and Lidia Sanza garnered second-team honors.

Pritchard, a junior attacker, repeats as a first-team selection after being named to the second team as a freshman. Through 15 games, she leads the team and ranks third in the conference with 48 goals Pritchard also is fourth in the CC in draw controls with 50. She tallied a season-high six points with four goals and two assists against McDaniel, while recording her 200th career point with a four-goal performance against Montclair State. Pritchard has 210 points to put her eighth on the program's all-time list.

A second-team selection a year ago, Bevington ranks second on the team with 34 goals and sits fifth in points with 37 points. She tallied 31 draw controls, 23 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers. Bevington scored a season-high five goals in the season-opener against Rowan and netted the game-winning goals in wins over Dickinson and Gettysburg.

Meisenberg, a junior midfielder, is earning her third all-conference honor and second as a first-team choice. She has scored 29 goals, going 9-for-13 from the 8-meter mark and dished out 22 assists for 51 points. Meisenberg leads the team with 18 caused turnovers and is second with 35 draw controls. She reached 100 career goals this season in the win over Montclair State, while registering a season-high seven points with three goals and four assists against Dickinson.

Hargest, a sophomore attacker, was named to the second team after leading the Diplomats with 32 goals and 31 assists for 63 points. The 31 helpers ranks her fourth in the conference in assists per game (2.07). Hargest has scored three game-winning goals and delivered a nine-point performance with two goals and a season-best seven assists against Ursinus.

Summers is receiving her first all-conference recognition on the second team. The junior midfielder is second on the squad with 26 goals and 30 assists for 56 points. Summers is third in the CC in assists per game (2.31) and fourth in points per game (4.31). She has scored six free-position goals and is 27 points shy of reaching 200 for her career. Summers led F&M with five goals and four assists for a season-high nine points against McDaniel.

Sanza repeats on the second team as F&M's starting keeper. She leads the league in goals-against average (6.07) and is second in save percentage (.537). Sanza has tallied 88 saves, making a season-high 12 stops against Rowan. In just conference play, she only allowed 30 goals for a 4.37 goals-against average.

The Diplomats will face McDaniel in the first semifinal game of the CC Championships on Saturday at F&M. Game time is 1 p.m.
