Box Score

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Nine different players scored, including three with hat tricks to lead No. 1 Franklin & Marshall past Swarthmore 19-3 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Thursday night.

Jen Pritchard netted a pair of goals and tied a career high with 11 draw controls to lead the Diplomats (7-0, 3-0 CC) to their seventh straight win. Shannon Summers tallied a game-high six points with two goals and four assists.

The Garnet (4-5, 0-2 CC) recorded three goals on nine shots, getting a goal and three draw controls from Amy Vachal.

Only 1:13 after the opening whistle Summers netted her 15th goal of the season off a good F&M clear for a 1-0 lead. Blake Hargest scored off a pass from Sarah Meisenberg at the 26:51 mark, before Laura Ruppersberger grabbed the ground ball off a saved shot and found the back of the net to make it 3-0.

The fourth goal came immediately after the draw control won by Pritchard and Allison Solomon buried her shot past Susannah Blair at the 23:33 mark.

Ashley Bevington and Pritchard struck 41 second apart with the first on a free-position goal and the latter off a pass from Summers to make it a six-goal game.

Bevington got her second goal of the game (19th of the season) and then found Meisenberg for an 8-0 lead with 13:47 remaining in the first half.

The Diplomats netted two more goals thanks to Pritchard and Summers before Marissa Schaffer converted a free-position attempt at 10-1. Ruppersberger and Hargest each scored off back-to-back draw controls won by Pritchard for a 12-1 lead at halftime.

The second half brought seven additional goals for F&M and two for Swarthmore. Bevington, Hargest and Meredith Lussier each finished with three goals. Lidia Sanza tallied four stops for the Diplomats.

F&M returns to action on Saturday in a rematch of the national championship game at No. 2 Salisbury. Game time is 2 p.m.
