Diplomats Win Nine Events At Coach

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall indoor track & field team collected nine first-place finishes, including five from the women and four by the men at the Coach "I" Invitational hosted by the Diplomats on Saturday. Alyssa Catalano led F&M, taking first in the shot put and weight throw with distances of 37-04.50 and 47-11.50, respectively. On the men's side, Kwaku Anno won the long jump with a distance of 20-03.25, while Jake Gomolinski finished first in the 200m in 23.84. Megan Hunter finished first in the 400m, running 1:01.95 to beat out four other competitors. Shannon Weir took the 800m race with a time of 2:35.35, edging Lauren Conicella from Muhlenberg by 1.48 seconds. Kelly Farelly was the fifth winner for the women, leading a 1-2-3 finish in the 3000m with a time of 12:22.50. Amy Burke was second in 12:28.60 and Kat Boardman was third, crossing in 12:39.25. For the men, Mike Del Rossi paced the weight throw with a distance of 40-03. Freddy Martino captured the triple jump with a leap of 40-11. In the 55m, Mike Arnold finished second in a pack of Muhlenberg runners with a time of 8.80. Charlie Bowen and Josh Laster also took second for F&M. Bowen ran 10:04.72 in the 3,000m race and Laster competed in the 800m, running in 2:10.54. F&M returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 20 at the Susquehanna Invitational. |
