Women's Golf Finishes Third at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall placed third amongst the five competing teams at Thursday's Dickinson Invitational. The Diplomats had two golfers, Grace Gallagher and Meaghan Eyler, place in the top ten at the Mayapple Golf Links.

Gallagher shot an 84 on the 5,800-yard, par 72 course to tie with Gettysburg's Mary Beth Scott for fourth place. Eyler shot an 88 for ninth place. The Diplomats combined for 367 shots to finish 20 strokes off of the champions from Gettysburg.

The Bullets edged out New York University by a single stroke. Dickinson placed fourth on 374 shots, while Muhlenberg finished in fifth place with a 426. NYU produced the medalist in Theresa Apoznanski. She carded a 77. Dickinson's Kaitlin Van Wagner took second with an 81.

F&M's Noel Stinchfield shot a 93 for 12th place, while Caroline Hailey shot a 102 for 19th place. Laura Hewitt placed 22nd with a 110.

The Diplomats return to action on Tuesday at Gettysburg's Invitational.
