Box Score

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson field hockey team scored three goals in six minutes and then won the stroke off 4-2 to edge No. 18 Franklin & Marshall 4-3 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Tuesday afternoon.

The Red Devils (6-8, 3-4 CC) battled back from a three-goal deficit, recording three goals in the final 6:44 of the second half to force overtime and the eventual stroke off to defeat the Diplomats (9-5, 5-3 CC).

Dickinson made its first three strokes, while F&M made its first shot and missed the next two. Nora Kinney put the Diplomats within one stroke at 3-2, but Jenny Saber scored the fourth and final storke for the Red Devils and for the win.

Brittany Carson tallied two first-half goals, one on a pass from Jessika Mancino and the other on a fast break off an assist from Eileen O'Reilly to give F&M a 2-0 lead at intermission.

The Diplomats made it 3-0 on the infamous penalty corner from Pamela Cassidy and Lindsay Solar to Millicent Scott for the goal.

In the 64th minute, the Red Devils started their scoring frenzy. Megan Kelly scored on a penalty corner before assisting Lizzie Boorse on a counter attack to cut the lead to 3-2.

Dickinson was awarded a penalty stroke with two seconds left to play to send the game into overtime.

F&M held a 19-18 edge in shots and 15-12 advantage in penalty corners, while Jennifer Burdo made 11 saves for the Diplomats.
