Meisenberg Finalist For All-American Team

March 12, 2008

LANCASTER, Pa - Junior guard Sarah Meisenberg has been named one of the 40 finalists for the 2008 State Farm Coaches' All-America Division III Basketball Team.

The 40 finalists, who are voted upon by Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) member coaches in each of the eight WBCA award regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team, which will be announced next Thursday at the NCAA Division III women's basketball banquet at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.

Meisenberg joins Muhlenberg junior guard Lauren Boyle as one of five finalists selected from Region 4. The Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Year and All-CC first-team selection helped the Diplomats capture the regular-season championship and earn hosting rights to the conference tournament. Meisenberg led the team and CC in scoring (18.7 ppg) and free-throw percentage (.789). She was second in assists (4.73) and steals per game (3.08).

Meisenberg was a three-time CC Player of the Week this season, while being named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on three occasions. She recorded double figures in 22 games this season, hitting the 20-point mark 15 times.
