Meisenberg Named CC Player of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. - Sarah Meisenberg has been named the 2008 Centennial Conference (CC) Women's Basketball Player of the Year, announced on Thursday.

Meisenberg is the fourth Franklin & Marshall player to earn Player of the Year honors and first since 2005. The junior guard also made her first appearance on the All-CC squad as a first-team choice. Meisenberg ranks first in the conference in scoring (18.4), free-throw percentage (.797) and steals (3.20). She also is second in assists (4.84) and third in field-goal percentage (.506).

She was a three-time CC Player of the Week this season, while being named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on three occasions. She recorded double figures in 21 games this season, hitting the 20-point mark 14 times. Meisenberg scored a career-high 33 points and went 13-for-15 from the free-throw line in the win over Muhlenberg on Jan. 19.

F&M will host the CC playoffs this weekend and No. 4 Gettysburg at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The winner will advance to the championship game on Sunday at 2 p.m.
