Tracy, Gomolinski Lead Diplomats At Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Megan Hunter broke the school record in the 800m, while Jake Gomolinski and Steven Tracy were top finishers in the 100m and 200m to lead the Franklin & Marshall men's and women's track & field teams at the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg on Saturday.

Hunter ran 2:14.94 to break the record of 2:18.16 that she set earlier in the season for second place in the 800m. Gomolinski won the 100m with a time season-best 10.99 and Tracy was right by his side for second place, clocking in at 11.01.

Tracy then led the Diplomats in the 200m, coming in second place in 22.27 and Gomolinski ran to a third-place finish in 22.46.

In the hammer throw, Alyssa Catalano came in first with a toss of 45.75m. She also took fifth in the shot put with a distance of 11.62m. Erin Gleason was a fifth-place finisher in the discus, throwing 34.90m before hitting 11.03m in the shot put for ninth overall.

Rachel Suydam crossed the finish line in third place in the 3000m run with a time of 10:59.14, while Shannon Weir took eighth place in the 800m (2:20.36).

Kwaku Anno and Freddy Martino each took eighth in the long jump and triple jump, respectively. Anno went 6.62m and Martino hit the mark of 12.96m for F&M. Anno also placed 12th in the triple jump (12.16m).

The men's 4x400m relay team consisting of Gomolinski, Anno, Ryan Bell and Charlie Bowen finished fifth overall with a time of 3:30. Bell also competed in the 800m run, leading the Diplomats with 13th place in 1:59.47.

F&M returns to action next weekend at the Centennial Conference Championships at Gettysburg.
