WILMINGTON, N.C. - Franklin & Marshall's men's track and field team rolled up 53 points for a fourth place finish at the Seahawk Invitational hosted this weekend by the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. The hosts won the nine-team event with 196 points, followed by Buffalo (165), and Slippery Rock (59). The Diplomats held a ten-point edge on fifth place Howard University.

Steven Tracy and Jake Gomolinski-Ekel combined for seven points in the 200-meter dash. Tracy took third in 22.53, while Gomolinski-Ekel placed sixth in 23.19. Gomolinski-Ekel matched that place in the 400 with a time of 51.71.

Josh Laster placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase finishing the race in 10:31.45. The two runners ahead of him were unaffiliated with the team competition, leaving F&M with 10 points. Laster had a 19 second edge on UNC-Wilmington's Paul Himberger. F&M also placed third in the 4x100 relay.

It was not just the F&M runners piling up points on Saturday. Jon Brallier gave the Diplomats an eight point boost in the pole vault clearing at 4.30-meters for second place. Wilmington's Colton Weaver set the bar at 4.45-meters for the win.

In the triple jump, the Diplomats picked up 14 points with a third and fourth place finish. Freddy Martino grabbed third with a mark of 12.8 meters, while Adrian Wilson took fourth posting a 12.42. Tracy and Zach Barninger combined for three points in the long jump finishing in sixth and seventh place, respectively. Tracy leapt 6.11 meters, and Barninger posted a 6.0-meter leap.

The Diplomats are idle until March 31 when the Diplomats face-off with Dickinson and Gettysburg in the "Little Three" meet, hosted by Gettysburg.
