LANCASTER, Pa. - Evan Stiegel picked up two wins at No. 1 doubles and singles to help Haverford defeat Franklin & Marshall 8-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Wednesday.

The Fords (5-2, 3-0 CC) only lost one singles match to record their third conference win and spoil the Diplomats (2-2, 1-0 CC) home opener.

Brett Joseph tallied the lone victory for F&M, defeating Penn Tong in three sets (6-2, 2-6, 6-1). Armen Vartan fell in a close match at No. 2 singles to Marc Rudolph (4-6, 6-2, 10-5).

Haverford swept the doubles matches, getting an 8-4 win from Tom Kinrade and Stiegel at the No. 1 spot. Stiegel also posted a 7-5, 6-4 victory for the Fords at No. 1 singles.

The Diplomats return to action tomorrow at McDaniel. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
