100-yard Breaststroke Results

OXFORD, Ohio - Franklin & Marshall's Tom Grabiak, finished in 19th place in the 100-yard breaststroke on the second day of the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. The sophomore logged a 57.55 in the preliminaries to take 19th.

Pavel Buyanov, a freshman from Staten Island, won the event by .01 seconds. He posted an NCAA record time of 54.49 for the National Championship, while Nelson Westby of St. Olaf posted a 54.50. That time also eclipsed what had been the standing NCAA record.

Grabiak placed 38th in the 200-yard individual medley last night. He will wrap up his first trip to Nationals on Saturday, racing in the 200-yard breaststroke.
