200 I.M. Results

OXFORD, Ohio - Franklin & Marshall sophomore Tom Grabiak established a new Franklin & Marshall record in the 200-yard individual medley on the first day of the NCAA Division III National Swimming and Diving Championships. He swam to a 1:56.08, breaking his old school record of 1:56.35 set en route to a gold medal at this year's Centennial Conference Championships.

Grabiak finished the event in 38th place, the same spot in which he qualified. He will return to the pool on Friday and Saturday for the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke championship races. He qualified with the 17th best time in each of those races.

The Diplomats' sophomore is the first F&M men's swimmer to compete at the National Championships since the Diplomats sent a pair of All-Americans in 2006.
