LANCASTER, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall men's swim team wrapped up its fourth consecutive Centennial Conference Championship, and sixth overall, taking five of the final seven events raced on Sunday. The Diplomats won 15 of the 18 events competed at the 2008 Centennial Championships, and produced the meet's Outstanding Swimmer on the men's side in Tom Grabiak.

Grabiak figured in his third conference record-breaking performance of the weekend Sunday evening. He raced to a 2:05.94 in the 200-yard breaststroke to reset the Centennial standard and post an NCAA B-Cut time. He had already won individual gold in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard I.M. on the weekend. He swam legs on the gold medal winning 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay teams earlier in the weekend.

Derek Nowak also posted a B-cut time in winning the 1,650-yard freestyle, swimming to a 16:04.89. Swarthmore's Stephen Shymon took silver, touching at 16:41.25.

Their efforts helped F&M further extend the 179.5-point lead they entered the day with. By the time the meet wrapped up Sunday night, that lead had grown to 253.5 points on second place finisher Swarthmore.

The Diplomats rolled up team points in bunches. F&M went one-two in the 100-yard freestyle with Peter Fishler collecting the gold in 47.15. Phil Rehders came in at 47.57.

F&M didn't take the 200-yard backstroke, but managed to pick up a pair of medals sweeping places two through four. Gettysburg's Adam Taft won the race with a B-cut time of 1:54.53. F&M's Matt Young touched .42 seconds later, followed by Matt Jaffee and Greg Mackinnon. Conor Finnegan and Jeremy Tourish also finished in the points.

Washington College's Dylan Pollock won gold in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:56.84. The Diplomats Val Perfanov took silver in 1:58.45.

Fishler, Rehders, Nowak, and Perfanov teamed up to close the weekend on the winning theme that had dominated it by grabbing gold in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The Diplomats grouping swam to a 3:11.38, winning out over Dickinson's foursome at 3:12.52.
