Men's Soccer Strikes Back

Sept. 1, 2007

Box Score

CARLISLE, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's men's soccer team exacted its revenge on Arcadia University with a 1-0 win at the Dickinson Invitational on Saturday. The Knights (0-1) knocked F&M (1-0) out of the NCAA bracket last November with a 3-2 overtime win.

Ryan McGonigle (Chadds Ford, PA / Unionville) netted the game's only goal in the waning seconds of the 57th minute. He collected a pass from Chris Walters, and slipped a shot past Jeff Kratohwill. Kratohwill posted 11 saves in the Knights' loss. At the opposite end, freshman Zack Zamek (Hillsborough, NJ / Hillsborough) stopped seven Arcadia shots to record a shutout in his first collegiate contest.

The victory is Franklin & Marshall's first in a season-opening game since 2002. Franklin & Marshall will face DeSales University tomorrow at noon.
