HAMPSETAD, Md. - The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team shot a 314 in each round of the McDaniel College Fall Invitational to place sixth amongst the field of 11 teams.

Andrew Woods was the Diplomats top finisher with a two-round total of 152 (+10) on the par 71, 6,870-yard course at Piney Branch. He shot a 76 on both Sunday and Monday, and finished in a three-way tie for ninth place. Randy Boll was one stroke behind Woods to tie with McDaniel's Gerry Butler for 12th place.

Chuck Anttonen shaved two strokes off of his Sunday 80 to finish just outside of the top 20. His 158 landed him in a three-way tie for 21st in the 54-golfer field.

SUNY-Delhi's Derek Walbridge walked off with the individual medal on a match of cards with George Washington's Max Hamm. Each shot a 143 to finish one stroke over par. Delhi finished in fifth place, two strokes ahead of F&M. St. John Fisher was the only competing school to come in under 600, having shot a 297 on Monday to finish with a 599, 16 strokes ahead of Wesley in second place.

The tournament concluded a successful fall slate for the Diplomats, who won three of the seven tournaments in which they competed. F&M finished in the top five in seven of those events, and reset the school record for lowest team round several times.
