LITITZ, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team took second place to Wesley College on Monday at the Bent Creek Invitational, hosted by the Diplomats. The Wolverines posted the top two individual finishes, while F&M placed six golfers in the top 15 in the 83-golfer field. The Diplomats "White" team took fourth place amongst the 17 competing teams.

Wesley's Chris Osberg completed the 6,232-yard circuit in 66 shots, coming in five shots under the par 71 to claim the individual medal. His teammate, Mike Rushin, shot a 70 (-1) for second place. Will Scarborough also finished in the top ten with a 76 (+5), helping Wesley to a combined 292. F&M turned in its fourth best team score of the year, a 298, for second place. The Diplomats shot a school record 286 on the same course back on October 10.

F&M's Chuck Anttonen, Joseph Fucigna, and Andrew Woods each shot par with Woods and Fucigna holding third and fourth place, respectively, on the match of cards. Woods was competing on F&M's "White" team. That trio made up half of F&M's golfers to record top 15 finishes. Their 71's tie for the third best individual rounds shot this season by F&M golfers. Randy Boll and Steve Colalillo each shot a 70 at Bent Creek this past fall. Colalillo joined Seth Andrie and Bryan Hartog (White Team) in a nine-way tie for 15th place with a 78 (+7).

F&M was the only team besides Wesley to check in under 300. York College, powered by eight place finishes from Shane Bernard and Jimmy DeCastro, and 11th place finishes from Sean Leitzell and Cody Trabert, took third place with a 306. F&M's "White" team followed the Spartans with a 311. Elizabethtown rounded out the top five with a 314.

Rob Moriarty and Kevin Pennhallegon rounded out the White team's scoring having shot an 80 and an 82, respectively. Moriarty finished in 27th place, while Pennhallegon tied for 42nd. Randy Boll rounded out the second place Diplomat contingent with an 83 to tie for 45th place.

The Diplomats return to action this weekend at the Glenmaura Invitational, the final tune-up for F&M prior to the Centennial Conference Championships.
