HERSHEY, Pa. - Joseph Fucigna shot a 77 on Monday at the final round of the Mid-Atlantic Region Invitational to finish the two-day tournament in seventh place in the field of 75 golfers. He led the Diplomats to a sixth place finish amongst the region's 15 top-ranked teams competing at the Hershey Country Club. F&M competed without two of its top golfers, Chuck Anttonen and Dennis Gunderson.

Fucigna entered the day in eighth place on the strength of yesterday's 74 on a shorter par 73 course. Monday's configuration was a par 71, 7,061-yard course. F&M was in fifth place entering the final round, and slipped one spot behind Carnegie Mellon. St. John Fisher took first place, producing the medalist in Scott Harris, Jr. Sunday's leader, Wesley College, finished in second place.

The Diplomats' Bryan Hartog finished tied for 25th place, a spot he shared with five other golfers. They combined for 159 shots to finish the tournament 15 shots over.

Randy Boll finished in a four-way tie for 30th carding a 160 (+16). Steve Colalillo shot a 162 (+18) for 39th place, while Seth Andrie shot a 165 (+21) for 50th place.

F&M returns to action Thursday at the Elizabethtown Invitational.
